Angelina Jolie's TatooI initially wanted to write about a couple of celeb tattoos, but after some research into Angelina Jolie, I realized that I had more than enough info for an article (or two!). Jolie, famous for her tomb-raiding and marriage-raiding incidents, is without doubt the most tattooed female celebrity of our time.

Most of her tattoos are very personal and define just how important her family means to her - she has ‘h’ for her brother James Haven on the inside of her left wrist and ‘M’ on the palm of her hand for her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand.

Probably her most fascinating idea, was the inking of six lines of longitude and latitude coordinates for the birthplaces of her children: adoptees Maddox (Cambodia), Zahara (Ethiopia), and Pax (Vietnam), plus natural-born daughter Shiloh (Namibia), and twins Vivienne and Knox (France). This tattoo deftly covers up traces of an old one – her 2nd husband’s name, Billy Bob which she removed after they divorced.

Another interesting tattoo is Bengal tiger on her lower back, done in Bangkok to celebrate her Cambodian citizenship. The Thai artist who inked this, also tattooed a Buddhist Pali prayer, to protect her and Maddox from bad luck. She has the Arabic word for ‘determination’ on the inside of her right upper arm and the words ‘know your rights’ just below her neck.

She has two more quotes, the Latin version of ‘what nourishes me also destroys me’ across her lower stomach and a quote from Tennessee Williams on her left arm which says “a prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages.’

These just account for about half of her tattoos, so you can just imagine the nightmare it is to cover up the tattoos before shooting her movies!

Travel tips

When packing, remember all medicine you're taking for your asthma, including rescue and controller medicines. Keep your medications in your carry-on bags so they're always with you. It's also a good idea to pack a little extra medication, so you don't run out while you're on the road.
